Reg: Power adapters/converters

Hi all,

I have a ps3 250gb, slim (bought in usa about 7 months back). Now I’m planning to take it to india. So my query is, do I need a power adapter to make it work over there? (Since it’s 220v in the india).

Please let me know what all things I should have to make it work in the india?

where can i buy this power converter

  1. You need a voltage stabilizer (converter) for the same. US is 110V and India is 220V, so getting a stabilizer will solve the problem. You can get 1 at any electrical shop, they are quiet common. Just tell them to give you something that will downconvert 220V to 110V or upconvert (vice versa). I live in India as well and you just have to ask them to get you something that will allow US electronics to work. Get it for like 1000 bucks or something.

Below is a reference pic if you want to see how it looks.

Also caution. DO NOT and I repeat DO NOT plug the PS3 as it is in the Indian socket as you will blow the thing up.

EDIT: sorry for the broken link. Link fixed

  2. the sockets r different in India and USA ,

you can buy a universal adapter with surge protector and plug in your ps3 cord

you can get it in radioshack or walmart or any store which sells electronic items
